Purpose
TheTask.net exists to inform, encourage and challenge readers about the ministry Bible Translation in Uganda and Tanzania. We seek to provide current information about the projects that are happening and the lives that are being touched. Through it all our prayer is that the Lord will use this website to build His kingdom and change lives through His Word.

TheTask.net is powered by Joomla, an open-source content management system running on PHP and MySQL. We've made a few adjustments to the core to give us the output we wanted. We've also used some third party applications to add features to the site:
- JoomlaCE (Joomla Content Editor) - A great WYSIWYG editor with lots of plugins (http://www.cellardoor.za.net/)
- eBackup - Component to backup and restore the MySQL database. Also provides scheduled backups by email.(http://www.mambobaer.de/)
- Related Items XTD - Enhanced related items module (tomh.gdi.cz)
- Suckerfish menu - Module that builds a CSS flyout menu with a bit of javascript to overcome Internet Explorer's weakness. Original idea from http://www.htmldog.com/. Download: mod_suckermenu.zip (4kb)
- Shadowbot - Mambot that puts an extra div around images so that css shadow effect from alistapart.com can be used. Download: bot_shadow.zip (1kb)
- FAQbot - Shows/hides a section of text. Mambot adds a div and some javascript around a text block to style it with display:none or display:block. Download: bot_faq.zip (3kb)
- Category Articles - Module to show all the published articles in the current category. Download: mod_catarticles.zip (3kb)
- ARTIO JoomSEF - Component that converts ugly urls into the human readable kind (www.artio.cz/en/joomla-extensions/artio-joomsef)
