Uganda is a fertile, well-watered, landlocked country with many lakes and rivers. Located in East Africa, it is bordered on the west by the Democratic Republic of Congo, in the north by the South Sudan, on the east by Kenya, and on the south by Tanzania and Rwanda.

The SIL Ethnologue lists 41 languages in Uganda. 17 of these languages are from the Bantu family.
