Last year, the Rangi translators decided to create a group on Facebook called,"We speak Rangi." Rangi people live all over Tanzania, many of them in cities like Dar es Salaam, Dodoma, and Arusha; many have access to the internet. When the Facebook group was launched, we had no idea of the far-reaching effects it would have. It was to be just a fun place for the translators to show people that their language is written down. Later, a Rangi man showed up at our office, eager to understand how to write and read Rangi. The only contact he had had with us was through the translators' Facebook site. He wants to write a paper on how to bring development to the Rangi.
