Several language communities in Uganda already have translated Scriptures in their languages, but a significant number of people, more than 2.8 million, are still waiting to receive at least a New Testament in their own language. A number of projects are underway to change this! The personnel involved in these projects are qualified and motivated Ugandans who are full of vision as to what can happen when the Bible is translated into their languages. The translation work is underpinned by foundational linguistic work and is supported by mother tongue literacy and Scripture engagement initiatives.
