As part of the Vision 2025 movement Wycliffe members serving in Uganda and Tanzania are working closely with many partner organizations and churches. Partnerships bring the church and Bible translation together and build ownership at the national level.

FOBA - Forum of Bible Agencies

The Forum of Bible Agencies (FOBA) is a network of Organizations involved in Bible Translation, Bible production and distribution, and those that publish and print Christian literature. Members include:

Launched in 2002 FOBA has met each year with the following agenda:

1. To formulate appropriate strategy to bring the churches in closer to Bible Translation.
2. To find possible ways of closely working together. An example of this has been to review the Bible Translation needs and current language situation in Uganda and Tanzania.
3. To increase cooperation among member agencies.

Christian Council of Tanzania (CCT)

Wycliffe’s partner organization in Tanzania joined CCT in 2002 with the intention of getting closer to the national church and building stronger partnerships. Historically, some member churches of CCT (the ELCT Northern Diocese in 1989 in Arusha [Datooga] and the Diocese of Central Tanganyika 1997 in Dodoma) gave us much needed access into the country.

CCT brings together some of the major mainline Protestant and Evangelical churches in the country, such as:

• Anglican Church of TZ (ACT)
• Evangelical Lutheran Church of TZ (ELCT)
• Tanzania Mennonite Church (TMC)
• African Inland Church of TZ (AICT)

Organizations in membership include:

• Life Ministry
• World Vision
• Bible Society of Tanzania

CCT acts as an advisory body to the member organizations and churches. CCT also assists in addressing issues related to government regulations and other internal concerns of a general nature. Wycliffe's partner organization attends functions and other important activities that are organized by CCT.

Pioneer Bible Translators

PBT - Pioneer Bible Translators is a Bible translation agency, which has a strong partnership with us at the international level. When PBT came into Tanzania, they worked and had their offices in Dodoma before they moved to Morogoro. PBT is also a member of FOBA and meets in the Forum together with other members. Currently we, PBT and BST are planning a joint training program in Morogoro.
